We hope you had a nice Easter break and that you've found all those hidden eggs...

Some update from the design team here, about the development of our brand new category for the CMS range: Mechanics Footwear!!!
As some of you may know, we are partnering with team X-Raid/BMW. We are outfitting their drivers and co-drivers with our industry leading Colin PRO. The staff is wearing our Shakedown low. Now what would a mechanic wear??

We've noticed that most of mechanics in any given team, are wearing either some rather conventional footwear such as Puma, adidas, Salomon or even Merrel. The above mentioned shoes are all fine but not really cool and dedicated to the mechanics... Moreover, we've noticed that many drivers have physical training in conventional athletic footwear. So, logically, we've been asked to tackle this missing link of category and we are coming with an answer which will please both mechanics, drivers and co-drivers as the product line we are working on will answer their needs.

Once again, we have approached the problem by first of all listening to what a mechanic really needs. Then we added our secret biomechanic recipe and lots of dose of coolness to eventually produce what we believe will revolutionize the motorsport footwear.

We are currently weartesting them, and we will initiate a field test with X-Raid mechanics. The test pairs will be given some of the roughest treatment there is, and we are looking forward to the next steps of development. There will be most likely 3 models available, with proper motion control in order to prevent premature foot fatigue, extra cushioning with dual density EVA for those long hours standing, oil and gasoline resistant rubber outsole, high resistance to abrasion and super breathable. Many more features will be unveiled in due course.

You can expect to see the Mechanics range sometime after the summer, (in Pics only, we love teasing..) and probably available on the market by early 2010. We will keep you updated on the development and who knows maybe some spy pics will be available somewhere...

It's been a while since we last posted some updates on the blog.
We have been pretty busy, doing many things at the same time...As usual.

One of the good things that we are introducing and that is not product related (for once..) is our brand new Wholesale Discount Program addressed to larger orders.
We're certain that this program will be welcomed with cheers especially in these tough economic times.
We have received so many requests to sell our products from retailers and others, that we have decided, in order to simplify the process, to introduce the WDP.
The discount program is based on amount and not items, which gives you the freedom to purchase any type of assortment in stock. The WDP will be available on our online store and payable via credit cards only. Shipping will be added to the discounted subtotal.

Just a quick update on our recent activities and rally participations.

At the recent Monte-Carlo Rally, our promising Swiss driver, Florian Gonon, sadly went out after a promising start.

Nasser Al Attiyah and Tina Thörner, after their Dakar adventures with Team X-Raid (in the lead for the 5 first days), flew to Qatar to claim a victory in the the first round of the 2009 Middle East Rally championship! A big hurray for them!

Also we're very happy for the McRae Enduro team who has finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd of their category at the Dakar. For a first participation, it doeasn't get much better than that!

Thanks to all our sponsored drivers and teams, our Colin PRO boots keep on adding prestigious victories to their trophy wall!

We have been rather busy upgrading our logistic center, which is a good news for all our EU customers as there won't be any more customs fees to be paid and one of EU's lower VAT rate as our main warehouse is now located in Lanark, Scotland, Colin's home town!

As a matter of fact, as the picture attached shows, your future gear is closely watched over by Colin's R4!! So your stuff will probably never be so close to the R4!!

Regarding the Online Store, you are now asked to choose a store depending on your geographic location: EU, Switzerland or Rest of the World.
Prices are set in EUROS on the EU store and in CHF for Switzerland and the rest of the world.
The rest stay as simple as it ever was to purchase your favorite item on our store.

Please note that, due to our agreement with our Benelux distributor, we do not sell directly to Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

Along with the logistics update, comes the new collection just in time for your Christmas wish list!!

New VAT rate in effect as of today:
Following the British government, we have adjusted our VAT rate on our online store to 15%, down from 17.5%. And as our products are priced without VAT and have not been modified, this means better end prices for our customers!

We are sorry to have been under the radar lately as we have been extremely busy preparing the new collection for FW 2008. The wait is almost over as we have received our new collection a week ago. We are going to put available for sale anytime soon on our online store and will arrive at our distributors warehouses within 15 days or so.

You will be able to discover our new apparel collection which carries probably some of the nicest polos and rugby shirts out there, all of them nicely badged with our now quite recognizable Cross logo. Attention to the detail has been our motto, and nice unexpected logo placement will be the coolest thing...

We are currently developping new jackets for the Spring Summer 2009 collection that have been awaited and asked by most of you! They will be absolutely fantastic, super technical to protect you from the foul weather when attending rally races or just being cool showing off your brand new colinmcraesport jacket. We will also introduce a lighter windbreaker, that is super light and waterproof and breathable too!

We are starting to finalize our footwear samples for the next season and let me tell you that here again, really nice products are on their way!

It's been a year today since we lost Colin, his son Johnny and friends Ben and Greame.

There is not a day without thinking about Colin, and through our work, we try our best to keep his legacy alive and kicking. Our thoughts are with Hollie and Alison and the McRae, Duncan and Porcelli families.

We are looking forward to be present at this year's very special McRae Stages to honour his memory once again as we do every day, in every shoe, in every item we design.

Long live Colin and through his millions of fans, his memory will never fade away. Never.

It is with immense joy that we are relaying the great news that Nasser and Tina have claimed yet another victory at this year's Hungarian Baja. More important with this win, Nasser Al-Attiyah has claimed the overall title for the FIA Cup for cross country bajas. And this even before the end of the championship!

We are very happy for Nasser, Tina and X-Raid and cannot help but feeling really proud knowing that the team is wearing our acclaimed FIA approved Colin PROs!

Next stop at the PAX Rally race in Portugal mid September.

Once again Team X-Raid with Nasser and Tina have demonstrated their outstanding talent with a well deserved 2nd overall position at the 2008 TransIberico Rally.

We are really proud to partner With Team X-Raid and we are joining them in celebrating this great podium!

Apparently the conditions were rather muddy at times and this may lead to new ideas from our R&D team to come up with solutions to answer the issues associated with muddy conditions...
